Product Care
All items are handmade in our Berlin atelier using a variety of special materials. We recommend the following care tips to keep your Fräulein Kink pieces looking their best.
Leather
Do not store leather products in plastic bags — it is important that leather can breathe. Store in a soft cloth bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Never use soaps or detergents. Gently wipe with a clean, soft damp cloth or baby wipe. If the leather gets wet, do not dry with heat — allow it to dry slowly under natural conditions.
Patent Leather
To clean patent leather, spray 70% isopropyl alcohol onto a soft cloth and gently wipe the surface. Never apply directly to the piece. Store in a soft cloth bag away from direct sunlight and avoid contact with other materials that may transfer colour onto the surface.
Wet Look Fabric
Wet look fabric can be lightly hand-washed in cool water. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or iron. Hang or lay flat to dry naturally away from direct heat and sunlight.
Chains & Metals
Store chains and metal trimmings in their protective bags when not in use. This maintains the integrity of the plating and extends the lifespan of all metal hardware.
Velvet
Never iron velvet. If creases appear, hang the item in a steam-filled bathroom or carefully use a steamer.
Satin
Dry clean only. If ironing is necessary, use a protective covering such as a light towel to shield the fabric from direct heat. Store in a cool place.
Fringe & Tassel
Fringe items can be hand-washed in cool water with a mild soap. Lay flat to dry.
Python Leather
Clean every few months with a clean, lint-free soft cloth and a leather care conditioner formulated specifically for exotic skins. Apply several light, even coats, allowing to dry between applications. Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight.
Fur
Never store fur in a garment or plastic bag — moisture will damage the fur. If the fur gets wet, do not rub. Shake out excess water and allow to hang and air dry. Store your fur accessories in their Fräulein Kink box in a cool place away from direct sunlight.
Black BLVD
Black BLVD pieces are vintage lingerie with hand-detailed sequin and crystal work. Dry clean only, or light hand wash in cold water. Lay flat to dry.
For the longevity of all Fräulein Kink pieces, we recommend storing them in the packaging they arrive in when not in use.
